New York Game Critics Cricle

Kris Piotrowski (and a representative from Superbrothers) enjoyed a brief visit to NYC last week, prompted by a couple of Sworcery nominations from the New York Videogame Critics Circle. We’re super pleased to report that Sworcery took home the award for Best Mobile Game, and we’re also super pleased to report that Kris had a great time hanging out with Andy Nealen & friends all over beautiful Manhattan.

Huge thanks to the New York Videogame Critics Circle, especially Harold Goldberg, for putting this whole thing together! We are honoured.

WHOA WAIT WHAAT?? CAPY is on Game Developer’s ’20 Companies To Watch’ For 2010-2011′ List!!!

We are stunned/humbled/amazing/even a bit confused to be on a list with such amazing folks as The Behemoth, ThatGameCompany and… err… Google? Also… IndieFund is in there, so it’s kinda like we’re in there twice? The mind boggles…

Holy Wow,
This is the craziest of craziness. Both of the games we released this year were nominated for a total of 4 IGN BEST OF 2009 Awards, which in itself is pretty damn amazing:

Critter Crunch was nominated for BEST PS3 PUZZLE GAME and BEST PLAYSTATION STORE GAME.Meanwhile, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes was nominated for BEST DS STRATEGY GAME and BEST DS MULTIPLAYER GAME.

And, to our pleasant and honestly unbelievable surprise, we just found out that our games have taken home 2 IGN Best of 2009 awards!!!!

Critter Crunch Best PS3 Puzzle Game of 2009

BEST DS STRATEGY GAME of 2009 = Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes

We are collectively blushing and puking rainbows into each other’s mouths, while stacking each other into linked formations and attacking the enemy hero’s beer keg.

Clash of Heroes Previews Make Us Happy

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

At the recent “UbiNintendo” event, and elsewhere, Capy’s Might & Magic Clash of Heroes was shown to the press… and wonderfullly positive previews are popping up all over the net. Here’s some choice selections:

“Clash of Heroes is honestly far more of an original intellectual property than a Might & Magic game at all. In fact, the further I play the game the more convinced I am that this was not only the right way to go on DS (a new direction, that is) but one hell of a reimagining of what could now be a full-on series. It’s good. It’s very good.”

“It reminded me of Secret of Mana, Puzzle Quest and the anime Record of Lodoss War all at once – and at the same time, Clash of Heroes felt like a totally unique experience. Very impressive.”

“The gameplay is unique in the genre, and the feeling of setting up a particularly good wave of attacks is great. The finished game will support local head-to-head battles, which we can only imagine will be a total blast.”

“In many ways it’s actually more complex and satisfying than the traditional M&M model.”

“The latest installment in Ubisoft’s fantasy series is coming to the DS, and we had a great time exploring the mysterious world and characters of Ashan.”

“I’m championing a DS game that deserves your pre-order. Listen well DS-owners: Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes could be one of the best DS games, if not the best DS game, of 2009.”
