Community Manager

Capy Games is looking for an experienced community manager to join our team and help us build our player community!

Job Summary:

You will be working primarily alongside the production and marketing teams. This position can be part time or full time, and has the potential to grow in many different ways. Do you love to stream? A spreadsheet whisperer? An expert at Discord communities? A lover of fan art, cosplay, and fanfiction? We’d love to work with someone who can help build our brand, give our awesome community the support they deserve, and use their unique skill set and interests to make Capy even better!

Responsibilities:

  • Interact directly with our communities to provide timely support, collect feedback and bug reports

  • Communicate the needs and challenges of our player community with the Capy team

  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns alongside the marketing team

  • Create assets and copy for marketing campaigns, newsletters, sales, ad hoc posts, and other events or marketing needs 

  • Manage and maintain our social media platforms like Discord, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, YouTube & Steam Communities

  • Manage and respond to support emails

  • Collaborate with other departments on the team and external partners during campaign cycles 

  • Keep up to date with social media trends & best practices, and game industry news

  • Play and know our games thoroughly

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of community management, marketing or PR experience in the games industry or adjacent industries

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills 

  • Good graphic and video editing skills

  • Past experience running organic marketing campaigns for games

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Experience with social media management

  • Adept at handling community questions and concerns

  • Passionate about games

 Nice-to-haves:

  • Familiarity with content scheduling tools such as Hootsuite 

  • Proficient in Photoshop or similar software

  • Familiarity and experience with marketing for live service games is a plus 

  • Familiarity with data analysis  

  • Familiarity with video editing 

  • Experience with or interest in streaming 

  • Degree in marketing or related field

  • Located in Ontario, Canada

This role may be performed at our studio in Toronto, or remotely (or a bit of both).  Most of the team is working remotely but is in the Toronto area.  Preference will be given to Ontario residents. Candidates from traditionally marginalised groups and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
